Oenothera biennis
Taken internally, evening primrose oil has the amazing ability to help balance our hormones. It contains anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant properties thus applying this oil topically has also been shown to improve cellular structure in the skin. Evening primrose oil is high in essential fatty acids (EFAs) and has high levels of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content, after borage oil, that promotes healthy skin and skin repair. It accelerates wound-healing by repairing and maintains skin tissue. It also discourages dry skin and reputed to prevent wrinkles, excellent for oily acne prone skin types. It penetrates deeply, counteracts free-radical damage, is skin rejuvenator and accelerates wound healing.
