Patchouli oil is widely used in perfumery to provide a sensuous, earthy base note. For centuries, the Asian people used patchouli to fight infection, cool fevers, tone the skin (and entire body), and as an antidote for insect and snake bites. It was also used to treat colds, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. It is sedating, calming, and relaxing, allowing it to reduce anxiety.The essential oil is produced from the plant’s young dried leaves through steam distillation.

- For age 0-1, use 1 drop of essential oil to 8-10 drop of carrier oil. For age 2-6, use 1 drop of essential oil to 2-4 drops of carrier oil. For age 7-11, use 1 drop of essential oil to 1 drop of carrier oil. And age 12 and above, neat application is safe
