Spikenard oil is a spiritual oil that is relaxing, centering and grounding. It was highly regarded in India as a perfume, skin tonic and health-supporting. There are many biblical references to spikenard, specifically concerning its use to anoint the feet of Jesus. The essential oil is distilled from the roots and rhizome of the plant. It is part of the valerian family.

Smoothing, calming, strengthening, protecting, cleansing, soothing
Common Uses:
As a cool compress to reduce skin rashes and body temperature; blend in creams and lotions to rejuvenate mature skin; use in a massage blend to aid sleep and relax body and mind; massage into the abdomen and lower bid to aid heavy and painful menstruation and cramping
Aromatic Influence:
The scent is strong, sweet and earthy, with an animal-like quality. Its earthy aroma is soothing and relaxing.
Blends Well With:
Lavender, clary sage, patchouli, pine, lemon, and vetiver.

Dilution Ratio: Neat
- For age 0-1, use 1 drop of essential oil to 8-10 drop of carrier oil. For age 2-6, use 1 drop of essential oil to 2-4 drops of carrier oil. For age 7-11, use 1 drop of essential oil to 1 drop of carrier oil. And age 12 and above, neat application is safe
Apply 2-4 drops on location
Apply to chakras/Vita Flex points
Directly inhale or diffuse
Caution:
Use spikenard in small quantities 0.5% to 1% is plenty in any blend
A low risk this oil may be sensitizing to the skin of irritating to mucous membranes in some individual
Do not use in conjunction with homeopathic remedies. Store separately as the oil may act as an antidote to them.
